Brown-RISD Master of Arts in Design Engineering

Zhiyu Zhang (Zoey) is an interdisciplinary professional: a filmmaker, UX designer, and strategic investor with nearly 5 years of experience. She graduated in Filmmaking from the Communication University of China and was a visiting scholar at USC, focusing on filming a transgender documentary. Her films primarily focus on feminism and LGBTQ+ themes.  Transitioning to venture capital after graduation, she developed strong analytical and strategic skills, leading to a successful collaboration on a financial analysis web application project funded with over $5 million in seed funds. Her current research interests include integrating AI and XR technology with film and AI-driven fintech products.
