Biography

Sebastian is from Miami Florida. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. During that time he interned for Accelerate Wind, a small scale wind energy startup working out of Argonne National Laboratory. He also worked as a mechanical design lead for satellite internet startup Mangata Networks. He spent the Covid lockdowns living on an off grid homestead in the Appalachian Mountains helping set up solar and hydro power systems, building cabins with sustainable materials, and learning a lot about living in community. Since graduating in 2021, he has been working for NASA’s Earth Science Division helping develop, maintain, and deploy atmospheric LIDAR instruments that help scientists better understand how Earth's atmosphere functions.
