Hal Wuertz is an Adjunct Associate Professor at RISD and Brown, and a Senior Design Manager at IBM where she leads design for a suite of IoT and AI software products. As a long time design thinking consultant, she has educated thousands of people, helping Fortune 500 companies, NGOs, governments and universities adopt design methodologies. Hal has written for publications like the Design Management Institute and EPIC People and she continues to pursue ideas about how design thinking can be used to facilitate new social and political ideas. Prior to IBM, Hal designed IoT environments for Harvard’s MetaLab and MIT’s SenseAble City Lab. She received her BA from Brown University and her MArch from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.
