Aalim was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He studied Philosophy at McMaster University with an interest in Ancient Greek Philosophy and Ethics. After completing his degree, Aalim pivoted into Data Science and Analytics, supporting evidence-based decision making for stakeholders in Product Development, Marketing, and Business Intelligence. His work experience includes roles at health-tech start-ups, cloud-accounting software, and online multimedia libraries.

Outside of work, Aalim has dedicated his time to support students overcome barriers in their education caused by a poor foundation or pedagogical models that exclude learning styles. He believes in learning and education as the path to meaningful connection between people, culture, and perspectives for students of all ages. For meaningful connections with Aalim, his interests include stand-up comedy, football/soccer, and film.
