Brown-RISD Master of Arts in Design Engineering

Ian Gonsher is Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Engineering and the Department of Computer Science. An alum of RISD, he has a long history of building bridges between both institutions. In addition to his design engineering capstone classes, he teaches courses that help students cultivate their creative process and apply those insights to an interdisciplinary design practice. He is a faculty mentor and co-founder of the Brown Design Workshop. His recent design research projects have focused on emerging technologies, including telepresence, robotics, 3D printing, mixed reality, HCI, furniture design, and design theory.
